Since its establishment in 2002, Sri Guru Samartha Sangeetha Vidyalaya has captured and intrigued the performing arts community, especially students of Hindustani Classical Music with its incredible reach and encouragement to young musicians. Sri Guru Samartha Sangeetha Vidyalaya gathers inspiration from personal narratives, rich heritage of tabla, and the path that the gurus have paved. Having trained over 200 students in Tabala and Hindustani Classical Music, who now have established themselves as accomplished artistes around the globe, Vidyalaya strives to provide a platform for budding artistes and musicians.

Amrutesh Kulkarni started learning tabala initially under Pandit Prahalad Mokashi, later under the tutelage of renowned senior tabala artiste Pandit Dr. Satish Hampiholi. Known for his perseverance in teaching the Gharanedar tabala under the umbrella of guru parampara, Pandit Amrutesh Kulkarni believes that learning this performing art takes dedication and commitment from students and can be achieved by rigorous sadhana. He is a retired mechanical engineer by profession, who spent his after-hours building his dream child, Sri Guru Samartha Sangeetha Vidyalaya. He has performed with top grade artists, organized mega events inviting artists all from all over the country to Bengaluru to perform and received numerous accolades for his contribution to tabala over the past decade which he respectfully dedicates to his guru Pandit Dr.Satish Hampiholi. . 

Sri Dr. Satish Hampiholi was born in 1965 to parents Late Smt and Sri Shantabai Dattatreya Hampiholi in Hubli. He learned Tabla from Late Pandit Basavaraj Bendigeri initially. Presently he is getting more guidance from Dr. Pandit Rachayya Hiremath, Dharwad. After coming to Bengaluru he established Sree Sadguru Music Academy. For the last three decades, he has been successfully organizing memorable Music Festivals and programs, like Vachana Nirantara, Daasa Nirantara, Shata Tabla Vaadana, Shata Gayana, Sangeetha Shravana, Sadguru Sangeethotsava, and many more. He has participated in prestigious Musical programs organized in places like America, Australia, Canada, England, Bahrain, Qatar, Dubai, Singapore along with other renowned Singers, Instrumental artists as a Tabla accompanist & conducted many workshops in & around the countries where ever he has traveled.
Now as a new venture dedicated to his Guru Late Basavaraj Bendigeri, Satish Hampiholi Music Foundation has been established. This platform has been created to encourage young budding talents in the fields of Instrumental Music and Singing. It aims to organize programs every three months, including Singing and Instrumental programs. It also aims at organizing Music and Dance festivals in various districts of Karnataka every year, which is dedicated to his Guru and its objective is to recognize talented artists and felicitate them.

Uma Kulkarni, the founder of the Vidyalaya is rightfully the woman behind the success of Amrutesh Kulkarni. Being the backbone of the Vidyalaya's activities she treats the students as her own kids, making them feel at home when they are learning. Initially started learning Hindustani Classical Vocals under Vid. Sneha Hampiholi, and is currently learning under the tutelage of Shri. Ashish Nayak.
